Soon to be right down the street from St Mark's Inn!
Soon to be right down the street from St Mark’s Inn!

The New York Wheel will be in sight from St. Mark’s inn.  St Marks Inn

Construction is under way at the site of a $500 million Ferris wheel project along the Staten Island waterfront.

The Staten Island Advance says the 630-foot-tall observation wheel is slated to open for business in 2017.

Up to 1,400 passengers at a time will view the scenery of New York City, New Jersey and beyond during a slow-moving, 38-minute ride.

The New York Wheel project was approved by the city in 2013.

In 2017, you will be able to walk down the street from St Marks Inn, go to dinner, ride the New York Wheel, catch a Staten Island Yankees game and walk back.  Sounds like a great evening

PotterCon 2016
Pottercon 2016.

POTTERCON was awesome!  So glad we went. Great things to do in New York City!

We all had a great time here.  Earlier this month  It brings out the kid in everyone!  The biggest event for witches and wizards is here.  The St. Marks Inn loves things like this! Original Harry Potter fans might have grown up, but that doesn’t mean they have to act like it. PotterCon brings magic lovers together at Irving Plaza for a day of childish fun, including Butterbeer, costume contests and trivia. Enjoy Hogwarts-inspired activities including a live sorting with the infamous Sorting Hat, a House Cup trivia tournament and a photo booth in front of Diagon Alley’s entrance with Potter-tastic props.  Pottercon was Awesome!

Check out the Event Website to see how it went!!! http://www.potterconnyc.com  Get ready for next year.

This was a Ferry & Subway ride away from St. Marks Inn.  http://www.stmarksinn.com

2015’s PotterCon gathered almost 1,000 Hogwarts alums for a day of witchcraft and wizardry, and this year we’re swish-and-flicking our way to an even bigger and better event. So dig your dusty old robes out of storage, accio your friends and come throw back some Butterbeers with other magic-loving adults. The day promises to be 4,224 pages worth of fun… Until the very end.
